The present invention provides an improved contourable surgical fixation device that is made from a resorbable material and useful in bone reconstruction. In one embodiment, the fixation device may be made of a polymeric material. The fixation device comprises a plurality of spaced-apart fastening plates, links interconnecting the plates, and openings defined between the fastening plates by the links and fastening plates. In one embodiment, at least some of the fastening plates have fastener holes therethrough for receiving a fastener, such as a screw or tack, to secure the fixation device to the bone. The present invention provides an open-structured fixation device that is capable of being contoured in three dimensions to approximate the anatomical shape of a bone to which the fixation device may be attached.
La présente invention concerne un dispositif de fixation chirurgical adaptable amélioré réalisé en un matériau résorbable et utilisé en reconstruction osseuse. Dans une forme de réalisation, le dispositif de fixation peut être réalisé en matériau polymère. Le dispositif de fixation comprend une pluralité de plaques de fixation séparées les unes des autres, des liaisons reliant lesdites plaques et des ouvertures définies entre les plaques de fixation par les éléments de liaison et les plaques de fixation. Dans une forme de réalisation, au moins une plaque de fixation comporte des trous destinés à recevoir un élément de fixation, tel qu'une vis ou un clou, afin de fixer le dispositif de fixation sur l'os. La présente invention concerne un dispositif de fixation à structure ouverte qui peut être adapté à une forme tridimensionnelle afin de présenter approximativement la forme anatomique d'un os auquel le dispositif de fixation peut être attaché.
