A quick release mechanism and headpiece for use with a respirator. The quick release mechanism uses a cam latch pivotally attached to a yoke to control the tension in an upper tension strap. In the latched position the upper tension strap traverses the yoke to support and seal the respirator mask against the face of the wearer. In the unlatched position the upper tension straps loosely support the mask below the chin of the wearer in a parked position. In one embodiment, a guide is provided on the yoke to ensure that the mask may be consistently donned and doffed with minimal effort ( e.g., potential one- handed donning and doffing). An opening may also be provided in the face mask and optionally in the yoke, and a filter may be disposed within the opening to provide the desired filtration of inhaled gases.
La présente invention concerne un mécanisme de libération rapide et une tête destinée à un respirateur. Ce mécanisme de libération rapide utilise un verrou à came fixé de façon pivotante à une fourche afin de commander la tension dans une bride de tension supérieure. En position verrouillée la bride de tension supérieure traverse la fourche de façon à supporter et à étanchéifier le masque de respirateur contre le visage de l'utilisateur. En position déverrouillée les brides de tension supérieures supportent le masque de manière lâche en dessous du menton de l'utilisateur en position d'attente. Dans un mode de réalisation de l'invention, un guide est prévu sur la fourche de façon à faire en sorte que le masque puissent être mis en place et dégagé de manière uniforme avec un minimum d'effort ( par exemple une mise en place et un dégagement possible avec une seule main). Une ouverture peut aussi être pratiquée dans le masque frontal et éventuellement dans la fourche, et un filtre peut être placé dans cette ouverture de façon à offrir le filtrage souhaité des gaz inhalés.
