ABSTRACT The present invention relates to a respirator of the type called a filtering face piece which is made from a flat pocket of filtering material of generally frusto-conical shape having an open edge at the larger end of the frusto-cone and a closed end at the smaller end of the frusto-cone, and the closed end of the pocket is formed with fold lines defining a generally quadrilateral surface composed of two identical triangular surfaces which have a common base which in use extends generally in a plane including the mid line of the wearer's face.
