A respirator comprising an outer mask (2) in which is defined a main volume (16) and an oronasal mask (4) located within the outer mask and defining a secondary volume (17). Air for breathing enters the mask (2) via a one-way valve (9) and filter (10). Exhaled air exits the mask (4) via an exhale conduit (5) fitted with an exhale valve (6). A conduit (11) is provided for the passage of air from the outer mask (2) to the oronasal mask (4). The conduit (11) is fitted with a one-way valve (12) and a filter (13). The filter (13) is such as to filter either particular or vapour challenges, or a mixture of these, as required.

Un respirateur comprend un masque externe (2) dans lequel on a défini un volume principal (16) et un masque recouvrant la bouche et le nez (4) disposé à l'intérieur du masque externe et définissant un volume secondaire (17) L'air de respiration pénètre dans le masque externe (2) via un clapet unidirectionnel (9) et un filtre (10). L'air expiré sort du masque (4) via une conduite d'expiration (5) munie d'un clapet d'expiration (6). Une conduite (11) est ménagée pour permettre le passage de l'air du masque externe (2) au masque recouvrant la bouche et le nez (4). La conduite (11) est pourvue d'un clapet unidirectionnel (12) et d'un filtre (13). Le filtre (13) est réalisé de manière à filtrer les particules ou les vapeurs ou le mélange de ceux-ci, selon besoin.
