A respiratory apparatus includes an instrument introduction section that is used for introducing an instrument into an artificial airway of a patient. The instrument introduction section has a distal end and proximal end with an opening which allows for insertion of the instrument into the instrument introduction section. The instrument is movable through the passageway in the instrument introduction section between the proximal and distal ends. A valve is located in the instrument introduction section and has a closed position in which the instrument may be isolated from the artificial airway of the patient. The valve at least substantially blocks the passageway of the instrument introduction section when in the closed position. The valve also has an open position that allows for the instrument to be advanced through the instrument introduction section. A manifold is attached to the distal end of the instrument introduction section. The manifold is in communication with the artificial airway of the patient.
L'invention concerne un appareil respiratoire comprenant une partie d'introduction d'instrument utilisée pour introduire un instrument dans un tube pharyngé d'un patient. Ladite partie d'introduction d'instrument possède une extrémité distale et une extrémité proximale dotées d'une ouverture permettant l'insertion de l'instrument dans la partie d'introduction d'instrument. Cet instrument est mobile dans la voie de passage se trouvant dans la partie d'introduction d'instrument entre les extrémités distale et proximale. Une soupape est située dans la partie d'introduction d'instrument et est conçue pour se mettre en position fermée dans laquelle l'instrument peut être isolé du tube pharyngé du patient. La soupape bloque au moins sensiblement la voie de passage de la partie d'introduction d'instrument lorsqu'elle se trouve en position fermée. Elle est également conçue pour se mettre en position ouverte afin de permettre à l'instrument d'être avancé dans la partie d'introduction d'instrument. Un distributeur est fixé à l'extrémité distale de la partie d'introduction d'instrument et communique avec le tube pharyngé du patient.
