Remedies and/or preventives for diseases accompanied by the excessive airway mucus secretion which contain 5-membered heterocyclic compounds represented by the following general formula (I) or nontoxic salts thereof as the active ingredient: (I) wherein Z represents an a-aminocarbonyl-containing group; R1 represents (1) substituted alkyl, alkenyl or alkynyl, (2) OH, (3) amino, (4) alkylamino, (5) dialkylamino, etc.; and X and Y represent each O, S or a substituted N atom.

L'invention concerne des remèdes et/ou des agents prophylactiques destinés aux maladies qui s'accompagnent d'une sécrétion excessive de muqueuses des voies aériennes, lesdits remèdes et/ou agents contenant, comme ingrédient actif, des composés hétérocycliques à 5 éléments représentés par la formule générale suivante (I) ou des sels non toxiques correspondants : (I). Dans ladite formule, Z représente un groupe renfermant .alpha.-aminocarbonyle, R?1¿ représente (1) un alkyle, un alcényle ou un alcynyle substitué, (2) OH, (3) un groupement amino, (4) un groupement alkylamino, (5) un groupement dialkylamino, etc. et X et Y représentent respectivement O, S ou un atome N substitué.
