ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention concerns an arrangement for restraining a vehicle passenger in the event of a severe decelera- tion of the vehicle due, for example, to an accident. The arrangement comprises the combining of a knee support with a rearward-facing support surface provided in the front part of the seat at a distance from the knee support that is less than the length of the femur, said seat support being adapted to be energy- dissipating. A substantial part of the support forces is trans- ferred by the support surface of the seat to the pelvis of the body to be supported.
