ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A restraint device to prevent a panic bar latch from being operated to open an exit door. The restraint device comprises an elongated bar transversely mounted to the door frame, from which projects a hook-like member engaging the handle rod of the panic bar latch and preventing the handle rod from being depressed toward the unlocked position. The invention also extends to a door structure utilizing the aforementioned restraint device.
