In one aspect of the invention a valve that operates in association with a downhole screen is threaded into the wall of a base pipe after being inserted through a saddle. When the valve body is threaded in, the engagement into the wall threads in the base pipe acts as a sealing force on a ring seal between the saddle and the base pipe and between the valve body and the saddle. The valve itself can be outfitted with a cover with openings that can be integral or removable and disposed at the end of the valve that is innermost to the base pipe. Preferably a series of elongated slots are used that can catch slurry if the well is to be killed while allowing subsequent production to drive the accumulated solids from well killing back into the base pipe. Another feature places the valve in a base pipe opening under a cylindrical screen section to reduce assembly time and cost of constructing an adjacent housing to one side of the cylindrical screen section to accommodate the valve.
Cette invention concerne, selon un aspect, une vanne qui fonctionne en association avec un tamis de fond. Ladite vanne est filetée dans la paroi d'un tuyau de base après avoir été insérée à travers une sellette. Quand le corps de vanne est vissé, l'engagement dans les filetages de la paroi dans le tuyau de base agit comme une force de scellage sur un joint annulaire entre la sellette et le tuyau de base et entre le corps de vanne et la sellette. La vanne elle-même peut être munie d'un couvercle avec des ouvertures qui peut être intégral ou amovible et disposé à l'extrémité de la vanne qui est située le plus à l'intérieur par rapport au tuyau de base. De préférence, une série de fentes allongées est utilisée pour recueillir les boues si le puits doit être tué tout en permettant à la production d'entraîner de nouveau les matières solides accumulées, depuis le conduit pour tuer le puits jusqu'au tuyau de base. Selon une autre caractéristique, la vanne est positionnée dans une ouverture de tuyau de base, sous une section de tamis cylindrique pour réduire le temps d'assemblage et le coût de fabrication d'un boîtier adjacent à un côté de la section de tamis cylindrique pour loger la vanne.
