The use of a device (a resuscitator) for performing artificial respiration on patients and a device comprising a bag which, at its one end, is provided with a patient valve, and at Its opposite end is provided with an inlet valve for drawing in fresh ambient air. Between the surroundings and the bag interior a small flow-through opening is moreover provided through which the bag may be supplied with the contents of a dosage aerosol for administration by inhalation of pharmaceutically active aerosols. This allows for optional use of the resuscitator as an inhalation spacer.

Utilisation d'un appareil (de réanimation) permettant d'effectuer la respiration artificielle sur un patient et appareil lui-même, comprenant une poche qui, à l'une de ses extrémités, est pourvue d'un clapet à boucher au patient et, à son extrémité opposée, d'un clapet d'admission permettant d'insuffler de l'air frais ambiant. Il est également prévu, entre le milieu ambiant et l'intérieur de la poche, une petite ouverture d'écoulement par laquelle on introduit dans la poche le contenu d'un aérosol doseur afin d'administrer par inhalation des aérosols à effet pharmacologique. Ceci permet d'utiliser éventuellement l'appareil de réanimation comme tube endotrachéal pour l'inhalation.
