TITLE OF THE INVENTION RETAINER OR KEY ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A retainer or key adapted for mounting in a groove in a shaft and consisting of a pair of U-shaped members adapted to be assembled in reduced diameter portion of the shaft from opposite sides and interfitting when assembled to form a complete and solid washer-like element in the reduced diameter portion of the shaft and projecting radially outwardly therefrom. A pin extends through the assembled elements and the shaft and holes the key or retainer in place.
