A clip for securing a deflector onto an edge of an automobile hood has a block portion for location adjacent the edge on the one side of the hood. A jaw portion engages the block portion and an opposed side of the hood. A plug is inserted through a hole in the deflector and into an aperture in the top of the block portion. A fastener passes through a hole in the jaw portion and into a second aperture in the block portion to urge the jaw portion toward the block portion, thus gripping the hood's edge therebetween to retain the clip on the edge. The fastener also engages the plug to fix the plug in the block portion and thereby secure the deflector to the block portion.
