ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE In wall siding panels having vertical edge portions adapted to overlap, a fastener to prevent the vertical joint so formed from bending or bulging outwardly. The panels have declinations and flat lengthwise shoulders to resemble clapboard finishing. The fastener consists of a female aperture formed in each shoulder for one panel adjacent the edge position thereof and a male projection formed in each shoulder of the other panel adjacent its side edge. When the edge portions are overlapped, each projection engages its corresponding aperture. Preferably, the apertures are formed by punching out the shoulder to create a second projection adjacent each aperture and the first projections are also made by punching, so that a perforation is made adjacent each first projection. The male and female elements have identical profiles.
