A retaining wall connection for mechanically stabilized earth structures comprising a plurality of courses (12) of cementations blocks (B) stacked together to define a retaining wall and having a backfill material (M) provided behind the retaining wall. A first layer of geogrid web material (20) has a leading edge disposed between vertically adjacent blocks (B) at a predetermined vertical height of the retaining wall with the trailing edge of the first layer of geogrid web material (20) extending backwardly into the backfill material (M) so as to be engaged thereby. A second layer of geogrid web material (30) is provided so as to overlay and contact the first layer of geogrid web material (20) from the leading edge thereof to at least a medial portion of the first layer of geogrid web material (20) in order to provide a significant increase in the connection strength in the retaining wall and the backfill material (M).
L'invention concerne une fixation de mur de soutènement destinée à une structure de terre stabilisée mécaniquement, qui comprend plusieurs rangées (12) de blocs de cimentation (B) empilés les uns sur les autres de façon à délimiter un mur de soutènement, et comporte un matériau de remblai (M) disposé derrière le mur de soutènement. Une première couche d'un matériau de géogrille en bande (20) présente un bord avant placé entre des blocs verticaux adjacents (B), à une hauteur verticale préétablie du mur de soutènement, le bord arrière de ladite première couche du matériau de géogrille en bande (20) s'étendant vers l'arrière et pénétrant dans le matériau de remblai (M) de façon à entrer en prise avec ce dernier. Une seconde couche du matériau de géogrille en bande (30) est placée au contact de la première couche du matériau de géogrille en bande (20) de façon à recouvrir cette dernière du bord avant à au moins une partie médiane afin d'augmenter considérablement la force de fixation dans le mur de soutènement et le matériau de remblai (M).
