A key retention device provides a first ring portion and a plurality of first clip units for removable attachment to the first ring portion, the first ring portion lying in a first plane, each first clip unit including a proximal end region with a clasp oriented to hang from the first ring portion in a substantially perpendicular orientation relative to the first plane, each clasp having a pair of opposed planar faces, the planar faces having an included acute angle therebetween, each first clip unit having a distal end region with a second ring portion to receive a key and/or an accessory, the plurality of clip units arranged, in an operative position, to liang side by side relative to the first ring portion with the planar face of one clasp in contact with the planar face of a neighbouring clasp.
