"RETRACTABLE LANDING GEAR FOR TRAILERS" ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A front trailer has a landing gear assembly mounted on sets of wheels connected to the rear end of the front trailer so that it can be retracted underneath the front trailer when the front trailer only is used or can be extended to the rear of the front trailer when a rear trailer is to be connected. The landing gear assembly has a fifth wheel com- ponent and the rear trailer is operatively connected to this component. The landing gear assembly includes a front portion situated under the front trailer and a convertor portion trans- versely hinged to the front portion for perpendicular hinging movement thereto.
