A device is disclosed, for use with a snow blower being of the type having an auger, and allowing it to operate while moving backwards. The device principally consists of a concave blade mounted on a snow blower, which pivots between an operative position where the blade extends close to the ground and the concave surface of the blade extends in front of the auger in such a way that the blade scrapes the snow and directs it towards the auger when the snow blower is lifted up to let the snow pass under it and moves backwards, and an inoperative position where the blade is raised to a height sufficient to let the snow reach the auger when the snow blower moves forwards. A snow blower equipped with a device as defined above, for operating while moving backwards, is also disclosed as well as a method for blowing snow with a snow blower equipped with that device. Although the device has been designed to fit on a removable snow blower mounted on a motorized vehicle, it could be adapted to any type of snow blower having an auger.
Cette invention concerne un dispositif à utiliser avec une souffleuse à neige du type à vis sans fin pour permettre le déneigement en marche arrière. Il s'agit principalement d'une lame concave articulée au caisson porte-vis sans fin, qui pivote entre une position de travail à proximité du sol où elle se trouve devant le caisson et racle la neige vers la vis sans fin lorsque le caisson est relevé pour passer au-dessus de la neige en marche arrière et une position escamotée où elle se trouve à hauteur suffisante pour laisser la neige atteindre la vis sans fin en marche avant. Cette invention concerne également une souffleuse à neige équipée du dispositif ci-dessus conçu pour le fonctionnement en marche arrière, ainsi qu'une méthode de déneigement à l'aide d'une souffleuse ainsi équipée.
