A pouring device for pouring liquid out of a container having a pouring spout. The pouring device includes an elongated tube. The tube is fixed to the pouring spout of the container so that it can slide in and out of the container. A valve mechanism is positioned at one longitudinal end of the tube. The tube can thus be retracted into the container so as to minimize storage space or protracted out of the container to facilitate the pouring operation. The valve is opened by further pulling on the tube once the latter has reached its fully protracted position.
