A method for withdrawing a fluid sample from a patient is disclosed comprising the steps of: a) providing a sampling device (10) having a housing (20) and a needle (40) having a sharpened tip for piercing the skin of the patient; b) withdrawing fluid from the patient into the housing; c) retracting the needle so that the sharpened tip of the needle is enclosed within the housing; and d) expelling the fluid from the housing after the needle is retracted.

L'invention concerne un procédé de prélèvement d'un échantillon de fluide chez un patient. Ce procédé consiste: a) à prendre un dispositif (10) de prise d'échantillons comprenant un logement (20) et une aiguille (40) munie d'une pointe effilée pour percer la peau du patient; b) à prélever chez le patient du fluide, qui est ensuite recueilli dans le logement; c) à rétracter l'aiguille de façon que sa pointe effilée soit enfermée à l'intérieur du logement; et d) à expulser le liquide hors du logement une fois l'aiguille rétractée.
