27341-18 ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A retrieval system for graphic information stores two dimensional graphic information previously as retrieval keys in a database separately but in correspondence with three dimensional graphic information on a large number of shapes. As the two dimensional graphic information can be displayed on a screen of CRT display unit, a user can watch the screen while retrieving the necessary information by viewing the screen. Only when the target information is assigned, three dimensional graphic infor- mation is selected for display.
