ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A retriever/toy includes a plastic dog-shaped body containing a battery operated motor attached to a propeller for driving the body through the water, and a steering mech- anism. The steering mechanism and motor are actuated by a hand held transmitter, and a receiver and servomechanisms in in the body. A basket is mounted on the front of the body for picking up a decoy or a water fowl. The basket is closed by a decoy or bird actuated lever on the front end of the basket. The retriever/toy is returned to shore using the remote control transmitter, or by a rod and reel connected to the body by a fishing line.
