Abstract An apparatus for retrieving downhole devices is disclosed. The apparatus of the present invention includes a retrieving device that can be run on non-conventional workstrings such as coiled tubing, wireline, or electric line. The apparatus comprises a power mandrel, an inner sleeve mandrel slidably disposed within the power mandrel, and an overshot means. Means are provided to translate longitudinal movement of the power mandrel into rotational movement of the inner mandrel.
