P R E C I S L'invention concerne des lignées continues et permanentes de cellules caractérisés par leur capacité à produire en continu un rétrovirus ayant les caracté- ristiques antigéniques essentielles du virus considéré comme responsable du syndrome d'immunodéficience acquise (SIDA). Ces lignées sont constituées par des cellules lymphoblastoïdes B infectables notamment par le rétro- virus LAV, préalablement adapté à des lymphocytes B, en présence de lymphocytes T. L'invention concerne égale- ment les rétrovirus LAV adaptés aux susdites lignées continues et permanentes. Leurs extraits sont mis en oeuvre dans des tests de diagnostic in vitro du SIDA.
