TITLE Reverse Osmosis Membrane Preparation ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An improved membrane casting solution, comprising a film and fibre-forming polyaramide, solvent and at least one metal salt is disclosed. The solvent is at least about 50% dimethyl formamide and the metal salt comprises about from 1 to 50%, by weight of the solution, of a hydrated magnesium chloride. The solution may be used in the preparation of reverse osmosis membranes.
