ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Solvents comprising C3, C4, C5 and C6 aliphatic hydrocarbons (i.e. propane, propylene, butane, butylene, pentane, cyclopentane, pentene, hexane, cyclohexane, hexene and their isomers) and mixtures thereof, preferably C3 and C4 hydrocarbons and mixtures thereof are recovered from hydrocarbon oils in the liquid phase by the reverse osmosis permeation of said solvent through a polyimide reverse osmosis membrane at low temperature.
