ABSTRACT A cartridge containing a flexible magnetic recording disk provides for simultaneous transducer access to both sides of the disk. The cartridge is formed of symmetrical halves which allow use of the cartridge in either of two positions. Symmetrical shutter mechanisms in both sides of the cartridge are opened by insertion of the cartridge into a drive to expose transducer openings and disk drive openings.
