9D RA 14136 ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A reversible hermetically sealed rotary compressor for use in a refrigeration system comprising a compressor cyliner, a rotor eccentrically rotatable in the cylinder and a vane dividing the cylinder between high and low pressure sides relative to direction of rotation of the rotor. Suction and discharge ports provided for each direction of rotation are automatically switched by changing the direction of rotation of the rotor.
