A supercritical water oxidation reactor is described having first and second reaction zones connected in series and through which an aqueuous feed stream to be oxidized can be passed in either direction. A self-contained heat exchange fluid system allows supercritical and subcritical temperatures to be maintained in either reaction zone. When supercritical water oxidation is occurring in one reaction zone the effluent is being cooled to a subcritical temperature and used to flush the second reaction zone to remove inorganic scale.

L'invention concerne un réacteur d'oxydation d'eau surcritique. Ce réacteur comprend une première et une deuxième zones de réaction reliées en série et dans lesquelles passe un courant d'alimentation aqueux devant être oxydé, dans un sens ou dans l'autre. Un système de fluide à échange de chaleur autonome permet de maintenir des températures surcritiques et sous-critiques dans chaque zone de réaction. Lorsque l'oxydation de l'eau surcritique se produit dans une zone de réaction, l'effluent est refroidi à une température sous-critique et utilisé pour laver la deuxième zone de réaction pour retirer les déchets inorganiques.
