ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A reversible pneumatic percussive device for making, for example, short holes in stable soil for trenchless laying of underground communication lines, or metal piling and for- mation of packed piles. The device is of the type having a hollow cylindrical housing and a hammer piston mounted therein for imparting blows in the direction of forward and backward movement of the device. The novel structure of the device provides that it may be switched from reverse movement to for- ward movement when in a hole. The device is simple in structure and convenient in operation and is not reversed upon accidental change in pressure of compressed air fed thereto.
