The present invention relates to a stand for holding cooking pot lids, with two preferred embodiments that function in exactly the same way. The first embodiment comprises a rigid, c-shaped shell which is tapered vertically, forming c-shaped rims of differing diameters at the upper and lower ends of the shell. The second embodiment comprises two horizontal, c-shaped arcs of differing diameters made of tubular metal held at a distance from one another by two rods of tubular metal joining the distal ends of the arcs. The second embodiment essentially traces the edges of the shell in the first embodiment. The c-shaped rims or arcs form a cradle in which a lid can be placed upside down. Both the larger and the smaller rim or arc can serve either as the cradle or the base for the stand, allowing the stand to be reversed as necessary to accommodate various pot lid sizes and various hand sizes of users. The tapered design of both embodiments allows multiple stands to be easily stacked for storage and/or shipping.
