ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Apparatus for simultaneously rewinding a plurality of metal strips which are cut from a wide metal strip or web and which provides for rewinding all of the strips into corresponding coils with a substantially constant and uniform tension within the strips. The rewinding apparatus of the invention eliminates the need for constructing a pit to accommodate progressive accumulations of the strips in a form of loops and assures that all of the coils are wound with substantially the same tightness.
