A description is given of a rewritable optical information medium having a phase-change recording layer (3) on the basis of an alloy of Ge-Sb-Te-O, having the composition (Ge a Sb b Te c)1-d O d, wherein: a+b+c=1 0.0001<=d<=0.035. The addition of oxygen considerably speeds up the crystallization rate of Ge-Sb-Te materials. Such a medium is suitable for high speed recording (i.e. at least eight times the CD-speed), such as for DVD-RAM and optical tape. The amount of oxygen in the recording layer (3) can be used to tune the crystallization rate to the desired value.

L'invention se rapporte à un support d'informations optique réinscriptible qui possède une couche d'enregistrement (3) à changement de phase, qui est faite sur la base d'un alliage Ge-Sb-Te-O et possède la composition suivante: (GeaSbbTec)1-dOd, dans laquelle a+b+c=1 0,0001</=d</=0,035. L'ajout de l'oxygène augmente de façon considérable la vitesse de cristallisation des matériaux Ge-Sb-Te. Le support décrit dans l'invention convient pour l'enregistrement haute vitesse (par exemple, à une vitesse au moins octuple du disque compact) effectué pour des dispositifs tels que DVD-RAM ou la bande optique. On modifie la quantité d'oxygène dans la couche d'enregistrement (3) pour obtenir la valeur désirée de la vitesse de cristallisation.
