A method for installing an RFID tag on shipping articles includes applying a strip of conductive material to the surface of the article and providing an RFID chip (12) having a body, a first bottom conductive point (22), a second bottom conductive point (24) and a nonconductive fin (26) between the first bottom conductive point and the second bottom conductive point. The fin is received in the shipping article (18). The RFID chip is attached to the shipping article by inserting the chip onto the strip of conductive material (16) on the shipping article such that the fin severs the strip into a first strip (16a) and a second strip (16b). The first bottom conductive point is electrically attached to the first strip and the second bottom conductive point is electrically attached to the second strip.

L'invention concerne un procédé pour installer une étiquette RFID sur des articles à expédier, ce procédé consistant à appliquer une bande de matière conductrice sur la surface de l'article et à préparer une puce RFID comprenant un corps, un premier point conducteur inférieur, un second point conducteur inférieur et une ailette non conductrice située entre ce premier et ce second point conducteur inférieur. Cette ailette vient se loger dans l'article à expédier. La puce RFID est fixée à l'article à expédier par insertion de la puce sur la bande de matière conductrice située sur l'article à expédier de telle sorte que l'ailette sépare la bande en une première et une seconde bande. Le premier point conducteur inférieur est relié électriquement à la première bande et le second point conducteur inférieur est relié électriquement à la seconde bande.
