Title of the Invention RIBBED HANDLE AND GUARD CONSTRUCTION FOR CHAIN SAW Abstract of the Disclosure A housing (12) for a chain saw (10) which is a clamshell type having a support section (34) and a cover section (36). The cover section (36) has a lower section (42) which is at least three times wider than the width of the support section (34). The cover section has stiffening ribs (72) formed on the underside of the wide lower section (42). Fastening means (60) enterconnect the support section (34) and the cover section (36).
