ABSTRACT OF THE INVENTION A RIBBON CASSETTE FOR TELEPRINTERS A ribbon cassette for printing machines contains a supply reel 2 and a take-up reel 3 mounted, preferably in slots 8 and 9, for separating and approaching movement. Between the supply reel 2 and the take-up reel 3 is provided a biassing means, e.g. a spring 17, arranged to urge the reels apart. Preferably, at the edge of the guide slot 8 of the supply reel 2 is arranged a mark M which in association with a guide spigot 4 forms an indicator for indicating the amount of ribbon 6 remaining on reel 2.
