ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The invention is directed to rigid urethane- -modified isocyanurate foams and to a precursor composi- tion. The foams are derived from a polyisocyanate, catalyst, a blowing agent, a foam stabilizing surfac- tant, and at least two active hydrogen-containing compounds wherein one of said active hydrogen-containing compounds is an alkylene oxide polymer having an OH number of from 20 to 200, containing from 2 to 8 active hydrogens, and being composed of at least about 10 weight percent, based on total weight of polymerized alkylene oxide in the polymer, of a polymerized ethylene oxide, the second of said active hydrogen-containing compounds is a compound containing from 2 to 8 active hydrogens and having an OH number from 200 to 800, and the polyisocyanate has a functionality from 2.5 to 3.2 and an isocyanate equivalent weight from 120 to 180. The precursor composition comprises said alkylene oxide polymer and said second active hydrogen-containing compound.
