ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE This invention relates to a waterproof rigid container for slurried explosives. The container is in the form of a tube or shell formed by superimposing partially or wholly a shrinkable polyolefin film on paper and rolling the film and paper into the tube formed of continuous and successive layers of the film and paper. The film forms an inner layer and the paper forms an outer layer. The tube or shell is crimped at one end and the entire tube or shell is coated with a suitable waterproof material which causes a partial shrinkage of the film. The tube or shell is filled with explosive from the opened end which is subsequently crimped and waterproofed so as to form a rigid and waterproof cartridge. The cartridge can be easily loaded into boreholes and it retains its shape and rigidity in spite of increase in the density of the contents on storage and consequent reduction in volume.
