This invention relates to a process for the production of polyurethane/urea elastomers from a reaction injection molding process of a reaction mixture on the presence of a catalyst via the one-shot process. The isocyanate component of this invention is a prepolymer based on a cycloaliphatic diisocyanate, and having an NCO content of 12-27%, an average isocyanate functionality of less than 2.3, a monomer content of greater than about 25% by weight, and containing urethane or urea groups. The isocyanate-reactive blend comprises a high molecular weight polyether polyol and a low molecular weight chain extender wherein the equivalent ratio of hydroxyl groups to amine groups of the chain extender is from 1:2 to 20:1. This invention also relates to the polyurethane/urea molded article produced by the above process.
Méthode pour la production d'élastomères de polyuréthane/urée grâce à un procédé de moulage, par réaction-injection, d'un mélange réactionnel en présence d'un catalyseur, en une seule étape. Le constituant isocyanate de l'invention est un prépolymère à base d'un diisocyanate aliphatique, avec une teneur en NCO de 12-27 %, une fonctionalité moyenne en isocyanate de moins de 2,3, une teneur en monomère supérieure à environ 25 % en poids, avec des groupes uréthane ou urée. Le mélange réagissant avec l'isocyanate renferme un polyéther-polyol de masse moléculaire élevée et un extenseur de chaîne de faible masse moléculaire, où le rapport équivalent groupes hydroxyles/groupes amines de l'extenseur de chaîne se situe entre 1/2 et 20/1. L'invention porte également sur des articles moulés de polyuréthane/urée, obtenus grâce au procédé ci-dessus.
