ABSTRACT A ringlike device for raising the circular cover of a street manhole comprises lower and upper rings assembled together. The cover is removed from the manhole collar and replaced by the lower ring dimensioned to fit in the collar and bent to define two peripheral notches in which two inner projections of the collar respectively fit. The upper ring has a diameter larger than the lower one to peripherally surround the cover when disposed therein and supported by the lower ring. The upper ring is further provided with inner projections fitting in the peripheral notches of the cover. As the cover is raised, the street can be covered with an additional layer of pavement, such as asphalt.
