The present invention relates to improvements to ripper boots of the type adapted to be mounted to a bulldozer tyne for use in cleaving through hard ground. The ripper boot embodied in the present invention has particular application in opal mining where sometimes extremely hard ground is to be penetrated and ripped. The ripper boot includes a replaceable ripping tooth which is secured within the boot by way of an interference fit so that during use, it does not rotate. The interference fit prevents particular matter from entering between the walls of the tooth and the associated socket. In further forms of the invention, the replaceable ripping tooth is angled upwardly with respect to the carrier so that the angle of attack of the ripping tooth is raised so that it is almost parallel with the ground. The ripper boot provides a number of benefits including improved cleaving effect, reduced chatter and drag, reduced wear and tear, and reduced load on associated machinery.
La présente invention concerne des améliorations apportées à des sabots de défonceuse tels que ceux conçus pour être montés sur des pneus de bouteurs pour le clivage de terrains durs. Le sabot de défonceuse réalisé selon la présente invention présente une application particulière dans l~exploitation minière de l~opale, pour laquelle des terrains extrêmement durs doivent parfois être forés ou défoncés. Ledit sabot de défonceuse comporte une dent défonceuse remplaçable fixée dans le sabot grâce à un ajustement avec serrage de telle sorte que, lors de son utilisation, elle ne tourne pas. L~ajustement avec serrage empêche l~entrée de matières entre les parois de la dent et la douille associée. Dans d~autres aspects de l~invention, la dent défonceuse est inclinée vers le haut par rapport au porteur de telle sorte que l~angle d~attaque de la dent défonceuse est élevée jusqu~à être presque parallèle au terrain. Ledit sabot de défonceuse présente un grand nombre d~avantages, dont un effet de clivage amélioré, une diminution du broutage et de la traînée, une réduction de l~usure ainsi que de la charge sur le matériel associé.
