ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE In accordance with the present invention, there is provided a riser removal device for castings which overcomes the inefficient and hazardous method of riser removal encountered heretofore, This is accomplished generally by transferring an increasing force from a hydraulic cylinder to the riser. A locating means is also mounted on the frame and is constructed so as to fit or seat on a convenient structural element of the casting so as to position the actuating means for application of a fracturing force to sever or break the riser from the casting.
