Patent

CA 2089560

2089560 9222751 PCTABS00018 The rivet connector described includes a sleeve (1) and a pin (2) designed to be inserted in the sleeve, a boring element (8) being fashioned on the front end (4) of the pin (2). Viewed in the longitudinal direction, the sleeve (1) is made up of two sections (20, 21) of different diameters (A, B), the section (21) with the larger diameter (B) being located at the end of the sleeve (1) remote from the limiting flange (7). The diameter (B) of this larger-diameter section (21) is approximately the same as the diameter (D) of the boring element on the front end (4) of the pin (2). A rivet connector of this kind can be used to connect together workpieces which must subsequently be able to move relative to each other perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the connector to relieve thermal or similar stresses.
