RNA polymerase transcription promoters containing compounds represented by general formula (I) or salts thereof. A method for determining the base sequence of a DNA which comprises obtaining a nucleic acid transcriptional product by using RNA polymerase with the use of a DNA fragment as a template, separating the thus obtained nucleic acid transcriptional product and reading the nucleic acid sequence from the fraction thus separated, wherein the above- mentioned nucleic acid transcription reaction is carried out in the presence of at least one compound selected from the group consisting of the compounds represented by general formula (I). Since these polyamine compounds have an excellent activity of promoting the transcriptional activity of RNA polymerase, use thereof in the method of determining a DNA base sequence with the use of RNA polymerase makes it possible to prolong the DNA sequence length which can be read in a single sequencing.
L'invention concerne des promoteurs de transcription de l'ARN polymérase, contenant des composés représentés par la formule générale (I), ou des sels de ceux-ci. L'invention concerne également un procédé de détermination de la séquence de base d'un ADN, comprenant les étapes consistant à obtenir un produit de transcription d'acide nucléique, par utilisation d'une ARN polymérase et au moyen d'un fragment d'ADN en tant que matrice, à séparer le produit ainsi obtenu de transcription d'acide nucléique, et à lire la séquence d'acides nucléiques à partir de la fraction ainsi séparée, la réaction de transcription d'acide nucléique s'effectuant en présence d'au moins un composé choisi dans le groupe comprenant les composés représentés par la formule générale (I). Etant donné que ces composés polyamine possèdent une excellente activité promotrice de l'activité de transcription de l'ARN polymérase, le fait de les utiliser dans le procédé de détermination d'une séquence de bases d'ADN, au moyen d'une ARN polymérase, permet de prolonger la longueur de la séquence d'ADN, laquelle peut être lue en un seul séquençage.
