A railcar-moving vehicle comprises a modified semi-tractor, having a highway mode for operation on roadways, and a rail mode for operation on rails. The vehicle includes an elongate frame (12) with selectively extendable high rail wheels (26, 28) for guiding the vehicle on rails (22), and rubber-tired drive wheels (20) for operation on roadways. The rubber-tired drive wheels are configured to support the vehicle on a roadway in highway mode, and to contact the rails in rail mode. A moveable weight (44) is disposed on a rear portion of the frame. A load-shifting mechanism (46) moves the moveable weight between a rearward position for rail mode and a forward position for highway mode.
L'invention concerne un véhicule autorail comprenant un semitracteur modifié, équipé d'un mode route pour son utilisation sur des voies routières, et d'un mode rail pour son utilisation sur des rails. Le véhicule comprend un cadre oblong (12) à roues rail-route sélectivement expansibles (26, 24) destiné à guider le véhicule sur des rails (22) et des roues d'entraînement à pneus (20) pour une utilisation sur des voies routières. Les roues d'entraînement à pneus sont conçues de manière à supporter le véhicule sur une voie routière en mode route et d'entrer en contact avec les rails en mode rail. Le poids déplaçable (44) est placé sur une partie arrière du châssis. Un mécanisme de déplacement des charges (46) déplace le poids mobile entre une position vers l'arrière pour le mode rail et une position vers l'avant pour le mode route.
