ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A road roller which includes a pair of rotatable roller drums, each roller drum having an axis of rotation and axially opposite end portions, each roller drum being journalled for rotation relative to an associated frame, a carrier connected between the frames, the carrier being positioned generally normal to the axes of rotation of the roller drums when the latter are parallel to each other, and a generally vertical pivot adjacent one axial end portion of one of the roller drums and the carrier end passing through the axis of the one roller for effecting relative movement between the roller drums between a first position at which the roller drums are generally in line with the direction of travel with the axes thereof generally parallel to each other and normal to the longitudinal axis of the carrier, and a second position at which the roller drums are generally laterally offset relative to each other in the direction of travel.
