ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A road scarifier is disclosed. It comprises a frame adapted to be moved back and forth by a tractor coupled to one end of the frame and then to the other, tooth bars mounted on such frame, scarifier teeth pivotally mounted on such tooth bars and having their road-engaging end cut at 90 degrees, and abutment means mounted on the tooth bars for allowing pivotal movement of the teeth back and forth during movement of the frame by an angle such as to permit one corner of the 90-degree cut teeth to engage the road during movement of the scarifier in one direction and the other corner of the teeth to engage the road in the other direction of movement of the scarifier.
