ABSTRACT A process for roasting zinc/lead sulphide materials, comprising forming substantially spherical pellets composed predominantly of lead sulphide, coating these with predominantly zinc sulphide material, and then roasting the coated pellets in a roasting apparatus to effect oxidation of sulphide, predominantly to oxide.
