In a method and system control signaling, such as ROHC control signaling is separated from the user plane in the RLC layer. An indication is further being provid-ed to the RLC layer of the Base Station Controller (BSC) and the Mobile station (MS) for enabling recognition of the sepa-rated control signaling. Hereby a more robust transport means than for the user plane can be activated.
