ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The invention relates to a rockbolt for reinforcing rock. The rockbolt comprises a shank, one end of which is fixed in a hole drilled in the rock, and a device for fixing the other end of the shank at the rock surface. With a view to avoiding a threading operation and the consequent reduction in strength, the shank is composed of at least two rod-like members. The fixing device comprises a wedge and a washer. The shank is passed through the washer at the surface and the wedge driven between the rod-like members in the washer. The shank is pre- ferably composed of three rod-like members made of bulb steel rods.
