Abstract of the Disclosure A rock windrower of the rotating helix type is provided with a castored teeth-supporting drum which is spring- loaded to permit a floating engagement of the drum with the surface of the ground. When heavy rocks or other obstacles too large to be conveniently moved by the windrower are en- countered by the lowermost teeth of the counter-rotating drum, the drum simply rises over the obstacles, relieving tension on the spring and thus permitting the drum, under its own weight, to return into ground surface engagement once the obstacle has been cleared. A hydraulic piston and cylinder arrangement permits adjustment of the drum position above the earth's surface. The horizontal angle of inclin- ation of the drum relative to the direction of motion is adjustable, the exit end of the drum preferably lying somewhat to the rear of the other end of the drum. The frame is pre- ferably triangular with the hitch located at the forward apex of the triangle and the frame supporting the wheels located at or near the two rear apexes of the triangle im- mediately behind the drum. The horizontal angle of inclination of the drum is adjustable within a small angular range.
